The water backpack is providing more than safe water storage but also an opportunity for women and children deep in the unreached villages to learn how to hand wash which reduces drastically the occurrence of water borne illnesses. To top it all, it eases water transportation, offering comfort while ferrying water. This is part of an overall project of introducing water backpacks in Parkishon village in Marsabit County being spearheaded by Pst. John Hirbo, Marsabit County Program Director. The project is aimed at eradicating waterborne illnesses
